Luck Is Alive

.

Luck Is Alive is a poetic short film directed by Paul Ward for African surf brand Mami Wata that explores the philosophy of animism through the journey of Dakar surfer Dame Samb. Rooted in the belief that everything, from the ocean to chance itself, possesses a living spirit, the film follows Dame as he discovers that luck is not simply found, but believed into existence. Set against the striking coastline of Senegal, Luck Is Alive weaves together surfing, spirituality and African identity into a visually arresting portrait of freedom, community and humanity. The film demonstrates how cinematic storytelling can celebrate culture while creating a meaningful connection between brand and audience.
